2:58p Just... no.
Dear Sir,
Three words does not equal a story. When your story is shorter than your summary, you have done something wrong. You get nothing, you lose, good day sir.

10:04p Nicknames
In NCIS, Tony and Gibbs don't really have nicknames. They have never been called "T" and "J". They probably won't be nicknamed that, even in fics.
And while Abby is his favorite, Gibbs would not let him call her that. I just can't see him liking it.

6:15p Another epithet rant.
Dear various Leverage fanficcers,
I don't care if the most recent ad campaign for the show gives the characters "titles" -- "Parker: the thief," "Sophie: the grifter," and so on. It doesn't mean you have to use those "titles" as epithets in your fics. (IMO they're stupid oversimplifications anyway.) They're not real "titles" and the characters don't use them for each other, so it jolts me right out of an otherwise engrossing story.
No love, just annoyance,
Rose Cat

8:52p Grabbing mobs as a tank
So, in preparatation for Cata I've been levelling my druid (who will become a troll). I love tanking a lot, but... I'm not very good at it. So I come to you ladies for help. I have no issues with health even though my gear is somewhat sub-par for a 38. My main issue is grabbing mobs when I lose aggro on them. I can't find them to growl them, and when I do find them I can't target them among all the players attacking them. Does anyone know a good addon or ingame fix for this type of issue? Thanks.

12:24a Hey, Girl
YMMV, I guess?
This is about fandom writer's everywhere. Fanfiction writer's are mostly women and a high percentage of those are teen or younger, so I understand that refering to a female character as a girl is pretty normal for a lot of them to say in real life BUT it throws me a bit when I read an ADULT WOMAN being refered to as a girl. (By adult men in quite a few cases too)
It's not even a rare occurrence either, but across the fandom board. I'm almost guaranteed to find that (often a group of adult) women/woman will be called "the girls/those girls/that girl/the girl" by another character (usually male).
It's just... bah... What's wrong with being a grown and matured woman?

12:18a For The (Insert Faction)
( Horrific end result of the Horde's raid on Stormwind today )
Since discovering my true love, pvp, I've been stuck with 3 out of 4 on my For the Alliance achievement for what feels like forever. Org is just so incredibly difficult! At least it seems so at the moment. The ones I have done though were a ton of fun. Even when about 50 people showed up and trounced us when Thrall was at 20% hp, it was a blast. So let's talk about world pvp and getting our war bears. Do you love it? Hate it? End up vaguely amused when you walk into the capital only to find it strewn with skeletons everywhere?
*I actually completely missed the whole thing, teled to Stormwind to use the auction house, went to the wintergrasp guy and woah skeletons all over, goddamnit I miss all the fun stuff around here

He gave a grateful (A/N: That’s spelt right, just so you know. Yeah, it confused me too. I was like why is it that grate instead of the other great? It’d make more sense…but then this is the English language) smile[...]
You are now topping my most-useless-A/N-EVER-list.
And now I'm tempted to do a grate/great pun. Obviously I need to go to bed already.

5:27p BG fail
Did they change something with report AFK in battlegrounds? I'm so confused, right before my group capped IBT and went all in, all of a sudden, I was transported back to Shattrath and now I'm flagged as a deserter.
I wasn't afk, in fact, I was running past Galv's bunker when it happened. Ironic, since earlier I was hanging out at Stonehearth Bunker, honor/xp farming while working on my nano novel (I'm a lvl 60 in AV, I never manage to get past Belinda, so usually I end up hanging around waiting for the horde to show up so I can toss my baby heals on people....so I play windowed with my novel in front, watching for action on the screen, and actively PvP when there is stuff to heal) and didn't get reported.
So, is it a certain amount of people reporting you, or can the BG leader just do it by default? I know a guildmate of mine watched the entire Horde team disappear mid-fight in a WSG.
I'm confused.
*edit* so I went to Trade (i know, i know, Trade lolerskates on a teeheetricycle), and apparently there are two ways to get booted from BGs
1. Get reported AFK and do nothing PvPish for one minute 2. Have 6 or more people report you AFK
I guess I could have not done anything for one minute, but it seems highly unlikely...a guildmate suggested people were reporting me afk since I'm a low level just to get me booted. But the BG was almost over, it makes no sense.

2:51p Quick question for rogues
I can't seem to figure out how to use my crossbow with my rogue. I have trained in xbows and would like keep the one I have equipped the one I have for stats. I would also like to use it to pull with but clicking on the bow, keybinding it, opening up the character pane does nothing.
I've tried Google and no luck there. I have two hunters so I get the main idea. Am I missing something?

12:59p Tribute to Mad Skill.. and beer!
25ToGC is the only thing my guild is still progressing on achievement-wise (need Insanity) but last tuesday we got Mad Skill.. while our raid leader was really really drunk. XD
Most of us know our leader (Garrosh) is pretty no-nonsense about getting through boss fights as efficiently and trouble-free as possible, so it was pretty great to see him running around drunk as hell through ToGC. XD The best part is we ALMOST got Insanity that night (got Anub to 8% before the tank died with 50 attempts left jksaflafhs).
Some of us were so amused we decided to record our raid. Sadly he mostly sobered up by Twins but it's still kinda funny. You can find our 25ToGC NRB, Jaraxxas, Twins, and Anub'arak kills from that night on youtube. For reference, I'm the big fat moondumbkin (who likes to stand in fire oops lol) and the only girl in vent lololol.

3:57p Multi-Fandom Characterization Rant
Okay, you don't have to like the heroes of any given story, and you're perfectly free to write fic that displays their more unlovely characteristics. But could we please at least make a token effort at staying true to their canon characterization? Sirius Black is an irrational bully, but he's not a traitor. Rodney McKay is an arrogant misanthrope, but he's rarely cruel. Mac Taylor is stiff-necked and overly concerned with rules, but he's neither stupid nor bad at his job. Dean Winchester can be a flippant jerk, but he's almost never selfish, especially when it comes to Sam (in fact, he'd sell his soul to save his brother. Oh, wait....)
Focusing on a character's negative traits is fine. Inventing negative traits that don't exist in canon--or that go directly against canon characterization--just makes you look like an idiot. You don't need to justify your dislike of a character by making up flaws that don't make any sense for them. You're allowed to just not like them. With the caveat that not everyone is going to agree with you, and that's okay. Variety is a good thing, people.

Tell me, dear author, whose fic I have not read because it has no summary, if you list your fic as: Type: Straight -- which I was presuming meant non-slash until I noticed it was followed by casts: Ohmiya, the rest of Arashi members [...], as well as having a slash pairing in the pairing tag, I'm going to be a little confused. I mean, don't get me wrong, friendship fic is awesome. I love friendship fic, but really. I like being not!confused a whole lot more.
Of course, Ohmiya SK has come to mean the Ohno Satoshi - Ninomiya Kazunari combo far beyond the 'we're dating/have broken up' tales that the two would spin (comedy skits that the pairing name was created for aside), but as a general whole, a pairing of the non-friendship variety is going to expected. Since Taka and Yuuji are a horribly ignored aspect of OMSK.
Would it really, really hurt to rethink your more than confusing header and aim for a little bit of clarity? A summary would be great, but cohesion is a great first step.
